For real, I just showed “The Angry Eye” in my Construction of Race class, and while I have critiques of it, I find it valuable. Especially for dealing with the white student who feels Beverly Tatum’s definition of racism is “supporting racism” and who said of Jane Elliott, “She makes it seem that being a person of color is the worse thing you can be and that’s not true.” Lord give me strength and a bridled tongue this semester!
